woven label proof approval

The Ultimate Checklist for Approving Your Woven Label Proof

The proof approval stage is your last checkpoint before production begins. Catching an issue here saves immense time, cost, and frustration. As your professional woven label manufacturer, we want every order to be perfect. Use this comprehensive checklist when reviewing your digital or physical woven label sample.

📐 Dimension & Specifications:

  • Size: Exact measurements (width x height) match your tech pack. Remember: labels can shrink slightly during cutting/finishing.
  • Shape: Correct outline (rectangle, fold, end-fold, mitred corner, laser-cut contour).
  • Edges: Confirm edge type: laser cut, hot cut, or straight cut.

🎨 Design & Color Accuracy:

  • Artwork Fidelity: All logos, fonts, and symbols are reproduced accurately. Pay special attention to serifs and tiny details.
  • Color Matching: Compare thread colors to your Pantone (PMS) references. Important: On-screen (RGB) colors will never match physical thread (CMYK). Trust the physical sample.
  • Alignment: Text is centered, and elements are correctly positioned relative to the cut line.
  • Legibility: All text, especially small care instructions, is clear and readable.

🧵 Material & Construction:

  • Fabric: Correct material (satin, damask, recycled, etc.) is used.
  • Hand Feel: Flexibility and stiffness are as desired. (e.g., A loop label needs to be flexible).
  • Stitch Density: The weave is tight and uniform, with no gaps or loose threads.

🏷️ Functionality & Finishing:

  • Fold/Loop: If folded, check the fold position and size of the loop.
  • Content: All required text (care symbols, RN number, material content, size, country of origin) is present and 100% accurate. Triple-check this!
  • Color Fastness (Test): Rub the label with a moist white cloth to check for excessive dye transfer.

Pro-Tips from Our Production Floor:

  • Always request a physical “strike-off” sample before bulk production, even if you approve a digital proof.
  • Involve your garment factory. Ensure the label size and folding are compatible with their sewing machines.
  • Ask us! If something looks “off” but you can’t pinpoint it, our technicians can explain if it’s a limitation of the weaving process or a correctable error.
